Coaching for teenagers differs from traditional therapy or counselling by being future-oriented and goal-driven, which typically means we achieve the objectives much more quickly than traditional therapy. My coaching also incorporates therapeutic strategies such as CBT, storytelling, play therapy, positive psychology, parts therapy, NLP, and life coaching which I tailor to each individual based on their personal needs and interests.
Unlike counselling, which addresses past traumas, coaching empowers teens to set meaningful goals, identify strengths, and develop strategies for achievement. The process involves uncovering the root emotions behind challenges, understanding their purpose, and helping teenagers take control of their emotions to reconnect with their authentic selves, strengths, and true value.
While coaching complements therapy, focusing on personal growth, resilience, and a positive mindset, it's important to consult a licensed therapist for severe mental health issues. Coaching is a powerful tool for teens to gain clarity and focus on achieving particular goals.

A typical coaching program for teenagers consists of 8 weekly sessions to really see meaningful transformation. However, individual results may vary, with some experiencing positive changes much earlier, while others may require additional time, especially with more spaced out fortnightly sessions. The program duration is influenced by factors like the teenager's starting point, goals, and unique needs. I customise each approach to address specific challenges and aspirations, ensuring a tailored plan for success. In the initial consultation, we'll discuss your teenager's goals to determine the recommended coaching duration, setting realistic expectations and creating a plan for growth.
Yes, I do. I run face-to-face session from my office in Poole, Dorset or online via Teams or Zoom anywhere in the world. If you choose to book online sessions, your teen will receive a welcome pack with all the material we will need during our sessions and I also modify most of my games so they can be played online, so they will not lose out on any of the fun elements.
